2021 Philanthropic Focus

At the end of 2020, William Rawn Associates made a major contribution to the Greater Boston Food Bank in lieu of hosting its annual holiday party at the end of the year.
This year, as we have navigated questions about our role in greater conversations about social justice, equity, and inclusion, the firm has made a commitment to continue this spirit of philanthropy into the future. This commitment to Philanthropy, identified by REDI (Rawn Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) in its five commitments, will now be instated as an annual tradition, with its recipient being a local organization or nonprofit nominated each year by a member of the firm.
In 2021, we began promoting another core firm commitment of Action, by partnering with Habitat for Humanity. This year 30 members of the firm were encouraged to take a paid day of service to volunteer with this organization to help construct affordable housing for families in need. We wanted to further amplify the good we can do in this realm by focusing our 2021 philanthropic donation on another housing-related organization. That is why this year we have chosen to give our second annual gift to the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance, an organization that helps break down barriers for first-generation home buyers with the long-term goal of closing the racial wealth gap.
