This “Ecumenical Abbey” on Rock Harbor in Orleans, MA is the religious center for a 350-member residential order of the Community of Jesus. The buildings are organized around a ‘community common’ that forms the nucleus for the order. The first phase included a basilica church, a cloister, and clergy offices. Subsequent phases included an atrium, a chapter house, choir and orchestral rehearsal spaces, refectory and assembly spaces, and a bell tower.
