The Linde Center for Music & Learning houses the new Tanglewood Learning Institute program, an educational program deepening existing audience connection to music and reaching out to new audiences. Accommodating master classes, open rehearsals, workshops, panel discussions, and presentations that allow participants a behind-the-scenes view of music making, this facility contains key spaces such as: a 3,700 sf multi-use space, observation spaces, breakout spaces, and a cafe.

TLI provides meaning and context for not only music, but for many of the humanities subjects. It brings people together for shared experiences that help create a more civil society.

Susan Elliott, former Tanglewood Learning Institute Director

In the main performance venue, performers and audience enter via a large-scale barn door onto the stage, creating an informal relationship between stage and lobby that encourages post performance conversations. The informality and flexibility of this multi-use studio, equipped with telescopic seating, also allows the facility to serve as a rehearsal and teaching space for the Tanglewood Music Center during the week.
