The Milton Academy Pritzker Science Center is a two-floor building containing 14 classrooms and 4 inquiry labs, as well as a large project room for independent student science projects. Sited between the Kellner Performing Arts Center and the Head of School’s House, the building completes the southern edge of the main campus green. Prominently located off Centre Street on the Campus Green, the new science building celebrates Milton Academy’s commitment to making science a highly visible, sustainable, and integral component of its academic mission.

Being able to see what’s going on in all the classes and experience not only what you are doing, but what everyone is doing, is an excellent catalyst for getting kids excited about science.

Michael Edgar, Science Department Chair, Milton Academy

SCIENCE ON DISPLAY

The school’s primary goal was to make science visible, after years in a series of fortress-like and remote buildings. Extensive glazing, both interior and exterior, reveals not just public spaces, but the classrooms themselves, making for an inviting, light-filled place for high school students to learn and grow. Floor-to-ceiling glass, garage doors between classrooms and centrally located gathering places for students and faculty foster interaction, collaboration, and inquiry.
